Oberschwoba Bagasch - Mundart-Tage 2026
Stadtforum, Bad Saulgau, Germany

"Dialect is the gold standard of language," said Martin Walser. That gold standard is under threat: dialect seems to be dying out, and many grandmothers now have to speak standard German with their grandchildren.
"Oberschwoba Bagasch" is a group of singers, musicians and cultural artists from Upper Swabia dedicated to keeping the Upper Swabian dialect alive. Their programme blends humorous poems and songs in Upper Swabian dialect with cabaret, storytelling and lively swing music. The inspiration is the Bavarian Radio show "Brettlspitzn".
The musical backbone is the Dreikönigmusig trio: Hans Georg Rimmele (clarinet, saxophone), Holger Haga (accordion) and Peter Wagerer (bass) - three versatile and experienced musicians from the Upper Swabian music scene. Together with additional performers, "Oberschwoba Bagasch" puts on a varied cabaret-format evening - a tribute to the Upper Swabian dialect and regional culture.
