Hillus Herzdropfa - "Ächde Älbler" — K3N Stadthalle Nürtingen, Nürtingen

"Ächde Älbler" - Living very close to heaven!

Hillus Herzdropfa live by the simple formula of Thaddäus Troll: "A Swabian is whoever speaks Swabian." Their Swabian homeland is not one of the federal states drawn up by politicians - it is a "cultural space", a region where people share a common culture.

That includes Swabian thriftiness: Lick the salt off the pretzel so your guest doesn't get thirsty! And of course Spätzle: "Cheese Spätzle, cabbage Spätzle, lentils with Spätzle, potato Spätzle, Spätzle with sauuuuce..." Maultaschen are a must on every Swabian menu: pan-fried, in broth, with egg... and even VEGAN (nothing fazes her).

Wash it down with a glass of Most (apple cider): "Good Most cures every pain, it is the Swabian's pearl. Wine gladdens the heart of man, Most gladdens the whole fellow!" (source unknown)

What else makes a true Älbler, you'll find out in this show! Hillus Herzdropfa (genuine Älbler themselves) know everything about these highlanders and what else goes on up on the Alb. Speaking in dialect is a point of honour for Hillus Herzdropfa!

A small sample from their Albschwaben dialect: Zirengga? Schdriggjäggle? Aurawai? Soidawieschd?

Hillus Herzdropfa are convinced: "What more could a person want than to be a true Swabian?" This show is a loving parody of the people and landscape of the Swabian countryside. Many writers have described the Älbler: "Hard as his soil is the Älbler - tough and not very talkative, yet not without native wit."

Hillus Herzdropfa believe their Älbler dialect is the language of their heart - the language of everyday life, used today mostly in private and family settings. But they bring it onto the stage, keeping the so-called Älbler dialect alive.
