Cara - Irish Music — Kulturinsel Borkum, Borkum
Description was written before the event

In 2003, four close friends and folk musicians formed CARA (Gaelic for "friend"), and to this day friendship - alongside their shared love of traditional Irish and Scottish music - remains central to the band.

Songs alternate with fast-paced instrumental pieces driven by the virtuoso interplay of fiddle and uilleann pipes. The Irish bagpipe, inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2017, is played by Simon Pfisterer, who studied this remarkable instrument at the University of Limerick.
