Cara - "Our Ship Is Ready" - Tour
Flottmann-Hallen, Herne, Germany
CARA enchants audiences worldwide with unique interpretations of Celtic music, deeply rooted in Irish and Scottish tradition. Innovative arrangements of traditional pieces and award-winning original compositions create a distinctive sound.
The vocal arc spans dreamy ballads, archaic Gaelic mouth music, and original songs with contemporary social and political themes. Both lead singers - Gudrun Walther and Kim Edgar - complement each other with seamless precision.
Songs alternate with spirited instrumental pieces driven by the virtuosic interplay of fiddle and Uilleann Pipes. The Irish bagpipes, elevated to UNESCO World Cultural Heritage status in 2017, are played by Simon Pfisterer, who studied this remarkable instrument in Ireland.
What makes CARA particularly special is the interplay of guitar and piano, along with inventive, rhythmically and harmonically rich arrangements. These bear the signature of Jürgen Treyz, guitarist, producer, and the band's musical mastermind.
From the opening number through the encores, CARA creates highlights in every concert, not least through the compelling solos contributed by each band member, and surprises the audience with ever-new sounds. Rounded out by charming and humorous presentation, an evening with CARA guarantees supreme musical enjoyment and excellent entertainment. Tours and enthusiastically received concerts across the USA, Australia, Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Germany, France, the Benelux, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland testify to the band's success story.
The multinational lineup of Irish, Scottish, and German musicians has evolved over the band's more than 23-year history, yet one thing has remained constant: deep friendship as the heart of this musical collaboration.
