A chamber music evening centred on love: what happens when love pushes us beyond ourselves? The programme pairs two masterworks that each explore the profound transformation of the human soul. Schumann's "Der Rose Pilgerfahrt" tells the fairy-tale story of a rose that longs to become human in order to experience love and compassion. Schönberg's "Verklärte Nacht" traces the inner journey of two lovers during a night-time walk.

About the venue: MDR Studio
