Elvis Aaron Presley, born on 8 January 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, became the defining figure of 20th-century rock and pop culture over the course of his extraordinary career. The year 1956 - with Presley's first hit single "Heartbreak Hotel" and his debut album "Elvis Presley" - is considered the birth of the "King of Rock'n'Roll". Presley gave his last concert in June 1977, before passing away on 16 August that year, officially from sudden cardiac arrest at his Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee. Yet legends and myths surrounding his death have never faded, keeping Presley alive in the public imagination to this day. For his fans, he never really left - at least not in their hearts.
