Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella

At last, the famous 1973 Christmas film classic has found its way to the musical stage.

Based on the original DEFA film by directors Václav Vorlíček and František Pavlíček, a charming and enchanting musical has been created, featuring the well-known hymnic music by Karel Svoboda and other composers.

For over 50 years, "Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella" has been one of the most important Christmas traditions for many generations. It is truly a special Cinderella - intelligent, self-assured, warm-hearted, who can ride horses, shoot with a bow, and climb. Now audiences and all "Christmas fans" can experience this magical story as a romantic musical live. After her father's death, Cinderella is mocked, exploited, and humiliated by her stepmother and stepsisters. Only the doves, the horse Nikolaus, and three hazelnuts help her secretly - against all resistance from the wicked stepmother - to reach the king's ball, where the prince falls head over heels for her during a dance. During her escape, she loses her right shoe, and the prince sets out to find her, the love of his life.

The musical was created with the permission of the DEFA Film Foundation, based on the film of the same name, directed by Stefan Zimmermann. All songs are performed live, and the actors, of course, also perform live.
