London Brass · Joy to the World — Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nuremberg

Four decades on the world's great stages - London Brass has long been a legend. When this ensemble plays at Christmas, a concert becomes a celebration.

"Joy to the World" takes audiences through the baroque splendour of Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi and Arcangelo Corelli, the romantic colour of Gustav Holst and Sergei Prokofiev, and on into swinging territory full of groove and esprit. Ten exceptional musicians, a rich, opulent sound and a programme that celebrates the joy of Christmas in all its facets.

Put simply: it doesn't get more festive than this.

The Aufseßsaal in the world-famous Germanisches Nationalmuseum is not only pleasantly warm but also offers the crystal-clear acoustics of a chamber music hall, with an unobstructed view of the performers from every seat. A bar is open before and after the concert and during the interval for drink & talk.

An event of the 75th Musikfest ION. The anniversary year features around 30 concerts, including The King's Singers, Tenebrae Choir, Stegreif Orchestra, Anna Prohaska and the "Große Nürnberger Musiknacht" opening on 19 June with Maayan Licht, Solomon's Knot and Chanticleer.
