All about RUND: STOPPOK celebrates his birthday on stages across the country.
Travel broadens the mind - and this "RUND-Reise" does so more than most. STOPPOK, the sharp-eyed chronicler of German life, turns 70 in 2026. That's too good a milestone to let pass quietly. So he's hitting the road on a "RUND-Reise" through the republic, playing the live stages of the country - always his natural habitat and emotional home turf. Expect jubilee shows with rough edges and warmth, a new album and old friends in tow. The icon of lyric, voice and guitar is clearly in the best of birthday spirits.
For 50 years STOPPOK has been a benchmark for an entire craft - a one-of-a-kind entertainer from the fresh-produce aisle of vital songwriting, an independent spirit "on solid ground" who chose early between "money or life", an outstanding lyricist full of wordplay, wisdom and pointed poetry. This weathervane of shifting values shines as a true original. There's no sign of fading energy or drying ideas: the last two albums, "Jubel" and "Teufelsküche", both landed in the Top Five of the Media Control Charts.
STOPPOK is a singer and musician held in high regard by respected peers - he pairs a loose tongue with formidable craft, handling his stringed instruments with masterful, deeply personal flair. Fed by folk, blues and rock'n'roll, the STOPPOK sound runs on energy and stubbornness. Carrying that idea of grooving emotional outbursts is his well-rehearsed band: Reggie Worthy on bass, Leo Lazar on drums, and Sebel on keys and guitar - all fellow passengers on the "RUND-Reise" (21 October to 15 November 2026). Fitting, then, that a new song from the tour album goes: "The longer we walk together, the better we'll understand each other".
STOPPOK keeps going - persistent, joyful, witty. Expect an evening that surprises.
