Courtly or folk, passionately free or strictly stylized - dance has left its mark on every musical era. Music is movement cast in sound. It breathes, dances, strides and swirls. It follows its own pulse, running through the centuries: now quiet and steady, now explosive and angular.

This programme traces rhythm across different times - from the linear art of the Baroque through classically buoyant elegance to modern tango narratives. Dance appears here not merely as form, but as a mirror of character, the spirit of an age, and cultural identity. Each work speaks its own dance language: Johann Sebastian Bach's polyphonic clarity meets Mozart's springy lightness; Bartók's rustic folk melodies stand alongside Stravinsky's neoclassical masquerade; the passionate Spanish dances of De Falla and the bittersweet tangos of Astor Piazzolla draw a line all the way to the present - full of energy, melancholy and improvisatory breath.
