Cara - Our Ship Is Ready

CARA is a multinational Celtic folk band, twice winner of the Irish Music Awards. The musicians enjoy an outstanding reputation for their innovative arrangements, original compositions and songwriting, virtuosic performance, and charismatic stage presence. They create their own sound, with the voices of singers Gudrun Walther and Kim Edgar at its heart.

Songs alternate with fast-paced instrumental pieces that thrive on the virtuosic interplay of fiddle and Uilleann Pipes. The Irish bagpipes - an instrument elevated to UNESCO World Heritage status in 2017 - are played by Simon Pfisterer, who studied this extraordinary instrument at the University of Limerick. Gudrun Walther's elegant and expressive fiddle playing is highly praised by the specialist press both domestically and internationally.

What makes CARA particularly special is the interplay of guitar and piano, along with the distinctive, rhythmically and harmonically rich arrangements of the band. These bear the signature of Jürgen Treyz, guitarist, producer, and the band's musical mastermind.
