Real rock needs a strong foundation and sensitivity: powerful stability and feel. Ron Spielmann has both. The guitarist, singer and composer combines filigree songwriting with the directness of rock at the highest level - for over 40 years. His 15 released albums under his own name testify to this.
He knows blues and soul, funk and jazz, but what is truly captivating is the space between styles, where Ron moves freely on the rock stage. His creed: "For me, music is special when it has enough space within it: everyone can enter and in a wondrous way find exactly what they have always sought." Spielmann opens this personal "parallel world" with modern rock songs: touching and authentically gripping, massive and filigree, hymnically driving and sometimes ballad-like intimate.
His new album "Lifeboat" stretches delicate, clear melodic arcs over a rich, unobtrusive foundation. With sharply accented riffs and gently swaying choruses, he textually illuminates modern society with all its ups and downs.
His range and experience are enormous. Ron worked, among other things, for seven years as musical director of the live band in SAT.1's breakfast television. He accompanied stars such as Tommy Emmanuel, Bootsy Collins, Beth Hart and Jamie Oliver. He sang live with Stevie Wonder, shared the stage with the Chick Corea Elektric Band and Johnny "Guitar" Watson.
"I have lived and loved my music my whole life," he says. His goal: to draw listeners into his music, "so they discover in amazement that from the first note they feel at home in it." His target audience is large: "People who grew up along the way, without ever wanting to," he explains. Just like the man on stage.
