LaBrassBanda are coming to Saarburg with their new album and the "Polka Party" tour. Fronted by Stefan Dettl, the band blends brass, pop, techno, ska and punk attitude into a sound that has long outgrown traditional wind-band music - with hits like "Habediehre", "Übersee" and "Europa".
What started in Bavaria in 2007 broke through to the whole of Germany by 2013 at the latest, when the band competed in the German Eurovision Song Contest qualifier. Sold-out venues from Berlin to Munich followed, along with appearances at the Southside and Hurricane festivals. In 2014 they toured the UK by nightliner and have since become a fixture at major European festivals.
Their most recent singles are "Goaßnmaß", "Teufelstanz" and "Space Bäda" - the latter a collaboration with rapper Roger Rekless. The new album "Polka Party", whose cover was painted as a hand-made watercolour by artist Tobias Rehberger, frames the entire tour.
Line-up: Stefan Dettl (vocals, trumpet), Manuel Winbeck (trombone), Manuel Da Coll (drums), Fabian Jungreithmayr (bass), Jörg Hartl (trumpet), Korbinian Weber (trumpet), Matthias Hoffmann (tuba), Michael Wagner (guitar), Tobias Weber (drums).
