INTERACTIVE EVENT: Frida Paints Joy - Reading — Hugendubel Würzburg, Würzburg

Join us for a reading and hands-on activity session based on the children's book "Frida Paints Joy" on 06.08.2026, 13.08.2026 and 14.08.2026 at Hugendubel bookshop in Würzburg!

This warmly illustrated children's book encourages kids to let their imagination run free and express their feelings through art. Colours can be bold and wild, shapes and lines can dance - because art is exactly that: a space where every child can simply be themselves. After the reading, the author invites children to get creative themselves, guiding them through simple projects that playfully connect them with their emotions and their own artistic voice.

About the book:
This warmly illustrated children's book encourages kids to let their imagination run free and express their feelings through art. Frida discovers a magical studio where the artist dog Carlo shows her that there is no "right" or "wrong" in painting. Colours can be bold and wild, shapes and lines can dance - because art is exactly that: a space where every child can simply be themselves.

In the second part, the book invites readers to get creative on their own. Author and communication designer Julia Heinrich has put together a colourful collection of craft and painting ideas, carefully selected and tested with real children. The resulting projects are simple, playful, and help children connect with their feelings and their own creativity. All activities require only a few basic materials and work equally well at home, in the classroom, or in educational settings.

About the author:
Julia Heinrich has been working as a communication designer and illustrator in Würzburg since 2008. At her own studio-shop "mit Herz und Heinrich" in the Zellerau neighbourhood, she creates illustrations, books and a range of lovingly crafted products. She also runs numerous creative workshops there for children and adults alike. With her first children's book, she is fulfilling a very personal dream.
