THE GREGORIAN VOICES - Gregorian Chant Meets Pop - From the Middle Ages to Today — Klosterkirche Bad Herrenalb, Bad Herrenalb

Since spring 2011, THE GREGORIAN VOICES has been touring across Europe. Under the artistic direction of Oleksiy Semenchuk, eight extraordinary Ukrainian soloists present the tradition of Gregorian chant with great style.

Dressed in traditional monastic robes, the singers create a mystical atmosphere that takes the audience on a journey through the world of sacred medieval music - a soundscape without temporal, religious, or linguistic boundaries. Experience a diverse concert blending Gregorian chants, Orthodox church music, and songs and madrigals from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

With their vocal power and numerous solo passages, the choir and soloists demonstrate how Gregorian chant can sound today: authentic yet contemporary.

In the second part of the concert, pop classics will resound, including "Ameno" by ERA, "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban, "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan, "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen, "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel, and "Sailing" by Rod Stewart - all newly arranged in the style of Gregorian chant.

Let yourself be captivated by the fascinating voices of the soloists and the moving choral singing: the Middle Ages meet the present day.
