THE GREGORIAN VOICES - Gregorianik meets Pop - Christmas Edition

The eight Ukrainian singers of "The Gregorian Voices" will take you into the world of classical Gregorian chant - the monophonic, meditative liturgical songs of the Christian medieval monastic orders.

Dressed in traditional monks' habits, the singers create a mystical atmosphere that invites quiet reflection and sets the mood for the festive Christmas season.

The concert blends Gregorian chorales, Orthodox church music and Christmas songs from various countries. You will hear the Latin choral "Gaudete - Christus est natus", Ukrainian, English and well-known German carols including "Stille Nacht", "Es ist ein Ros' entsprungen" and "Tochter Zion".

Rounding out the programme are pop classics rearranged in the Gregorian style: "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel, "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen and "You Raise Me Up" by Josh Groban.
