Leonardo & Marta Mabilia - Concert for Piano and Trombone
Altes Rathaus Laufen, Germany
Two young Italian musicians of exceptional talent bring a special concert evening to the Altes Rathaus in Laufen: siblings Marta and Leonardo Mabilia present a programme rich in virtuosity and expressive depth.
Leonardo Mabilia, a multiple prize-winner at international piano competitions, performs works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Robert Schumann's celebrated "Kreisleriana". His sister Marta Mabilia, who studies trombone at the Venice Conservatory and moves equally at home in classical, jazz and pop, gives the trombone a remarkably distinctive voice.
Together, the siblings perform the Trombone Concerto by Launy Valdemar Grøndahl and Rachmaninov's tender "Vocalise", with the trombone taking the vocal line. The rare pairing of piano and trombone makes for an evening that is as unusual as it is compelling.
The concert falls during the internationally celebrated Mozart Week and includes works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart himself - a connection that lends the evening an extra layer of meaning.
In their debut performance in Germany, Marta and Leonardo Mabilia invite audiences to an evening that brings together musical passion, sibling chemistry and the highest artistic standards.
