ResidenzKlänge: Der Farinelli des Nordens

A concert by Hamburger Ratsmusik marking the 275th birthday of Queen Caroline Mathilde

Filippo Finazzi won the hearts of "noble and most distinguished bourgeois households" with his singing at the Gänsemarktoper, gave music lessons and composed. Between 1667 and 1671 he wrote the birthday cantata "Dies ist der Tag, den der Herr machet" for the Danish Queen Caroline Mathilde (1751-1775) - the commissioner of the work remains unknown to this day.

Hamburger Ratsmusik performs this cantata alongside further works by this exceptional musical talent, in celebration of Caroline Mathilde's 275th birthday.
