Jugendjazzorchester Niedersachsen "Wind Machine" - "True Sounds"

Jugendjazzorchester Niedersachsen "Wind Machine" brings together young jazz talents aged 13 to 25 from across Lower Saxony. For nearly 40 years, the ensemble has represented energetic and versatile big band jazz - with over 400 concerts, recordings, and international tours to France, Russia, and China.

The repertoire ranges from swing-era classics to modern and contemporary pieces - often complemented by original compositions from the ensemble's own members. Wind Machine is distinguished by its flexible, plastic sound with great dynamic range - characterized by palpable vitality.

Under the direction of Uli Plettendorff, Jugendjazzorchester presents its current programme "True Sounds". Wind Machine immerses itself in different sonic worlds - from tradition to modernity, always carried by its characteristic sound - authentic and sincere.

Patron of all state youth ensembles of the Landesmusikrat Niedersachsen is Minister-President Olaf Lies. Jugendjazzorchester, like the other state youth ensembles, receives support from NDR Musikförderung in Lower Saxony. The Landesmusikrat as the sponsoring organization is institutionally supported by the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony.
