Shakespeare's Macbeth

For Katharina Thalbach, this is a return to her roots: Macbeth was her first directorial work - celebrated throughout Europe, triumphantly received in London, and presented as a model production at the Théâtre national de Chaillot in Paris. For nine years, her production remained on the stage. Now she returns to this work - this time as a reading, with Katharina Thalbach as Macbeth, in the translation by Thomas Brasch.

Katharina Thalbach has been on stage since childhood. She is one of the most beloved German-language film and television actresses. For her work, she has received, among other honours, the German Film Prize and the Grimme Prize. In 2014, she received the German Audiobook Prize for her lifetime achievement.

Her daughter Anna is a theatre and film actress and one of the most sought-after audiobook narrators in Germany. In 2008, she received the German Audiobook Prize. In cinema, she has appeared in nationally and internationally successful productions, including "Burning Life", "Der Baader Meinhof Komplex", and alongside Keira Knightley and Viggo Mortensen in "A dangerous method" (2010) by David Cronenberg.

Nellie Thalbach, born in 1995 in Berlin, is an actress and the youngest member of the theatrical Thalbach family. She made her theatre debut in 2002 at the Maxim Gorki Theater.
