Cello-Treffen — Gymnasium Lohne, Lohne

One instrument, twelve personalities, one ensemble.

Ever since the Berliner Philharmoniker took over the Easter Festival in Baden-Baden, their partner orchestra has been part of the picture: each year, musicians from the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Bundesjugendorchester sit side by side under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle or Kirill Petrenko. Exceptionally gifted players can perform in Germany's youngest top-tier orchestra up to the age of 19. Preparing programmes for concert tours across Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa, working alongside professionals from Germany's finest orchestras and conservatories, and meeting like-minded young talents - all of this shapes the participants musically and personally, forging friendships that often last a lifetime.

At Cello-Treffen, twelve cellists from the past 20 years of the Bundesjugendorchester come together to create a sound that blends orchestral power with chamber-music precision. One instrument, twelve personalities - ranging from current Bundesjugendorchester members to today's principal cellists in major German orchestras.
