When Joachim arrives at his 86-year-old mother's home in a small northern German town, an unusual adventure awaits. The woman loves trips to the train station - not so much for the passengers, but for the döner kebab from the Turkish snack bar. When her son finally appears, everything goes wrong: the train arrived on time, and she hasn't finished eating yet.
On the drive home, Joachim's mother accelerates dangerously fast. A combination of Kiel sausages, leftover döner kebab, her intense perfume, and reckless speed causes Joachim's stomach to turn. He barely manages to open the window before his stomach empties onto the roadside.
So begins Joachim's rescue vacation. After a stroke and a profound mental collapse that culminated during his son's birthday party, he has fled to his mother to find himself again. Her unconventional life habits help him regain his footing. An unusual summer unfolds - a mother-and-son encounter that no one dared hope for.
