Two close companions of Saint Francis - one of them from Speyer - played a decisive role in founding and shaping the Franciscan Order. Friends become enemies; fate runs its course. The play brings those events back to life by giving a voice to the now-forgotten Caesarius of Speyer, while keeping the audience thoroughly entertained. As always, many roles - and just two actors: Bernhard Weller and Götz Valter. And as always, greatness and banality sit side by side, offering insights, explanations and interpretations that will have you laughing through tears.
