Elster Trio

The Elster Trio - three young chamber musicians - makes its debut at the Wedeler Musiktagen. Violinist Varvara Vasylieva, cellist Davide Carlassara, and pianist Jacopo Giovannini have already achieved competition success and received invitations to prestigious festivals.

In their debut concert, the ensemble presents classical works from the piano trio repertoire: Haydn, Beethoven, and Brahms. The programme traces key stages in the genre's development - from Haydn's formal elegance through Beethoven's expansion of the form to Brahms' rich sonic world. The young ensemble makes a deliberate artistic choice with this repertoire, prioritizing audible communication, tension, and tonal differentiation over superficial effects.

The concert is created in cooperation with the Forsthoff Cello-Fonds. The Johann-Rist-Forum is an ideal venue for chamber music: the beautiful concert hall combines excellent acoustics, a magnificent Steinway grand piano, and the intimate proximity in which chamber music unfolds as an audible dialogue between three musical personalities in direct encounter with the audience.
