After a difficult day at school, Szarówa goes to bed and finds herself in an unknown place - Failureland. There she meets Big Sad, who ended up in this place as a child when he was hiding from his peers, and has remained here ever since. Packet of Tissues, the receptionist, explains that this is a space for experiencing failure: everyone is given their own corner and an unlimited supply of tissues.

When Szarówa asks about the way out, she doesn't get a clear answer. However, she has no intention of giving in to sadness and persuades Big Sad to explore Failureland together with her.
