Z LINII - Exhibition of Works by Natalii Wegner

Tue, 16 Jun 2026 · 11:00

Wieża Ciśnień. Galeria Centrum Kultury i Sztuki w Koninie, Konin

The exhibition "Z linii" by Natalii Wegner presents paintings on paper created using the technique of painted collage – made from cardboard and paper treated with acrylic, markers, and oil pastels. The display of torn edges, protruding elements, as well as traces of spatula and broad brushstrokes are particularly evident in the small formats.

For the first time in full, a series of dozens of paintings in the 20×20 cm format will be shown, complemented by works of medium and large size. The main theme is landscape – constructed from fragments of sky, earth, and water, juxtaposed, shifted, and glued together. As the artist says: "The process of fitting, searching sometimes takes a long time and ultimately may not result in a finished painting". Most landscapes do not depict specific locations, though sometimes a familiar motif serves as the starting point – for example, a bend in the road in Żabnie. The paintings are united by a characteristic division of landscape: the convergence of lines, the horizon, the edges of communication screens. The latest works – with abstracted fragments of asphalt and earth on a clean background – represent an attempt at synthesis and an abstract approach to the subject.

The opening reception will take place on Friday, June 12 at 6:00 PM in the CKiS Wieża Ciśnień Gallery – free admission. The exhibition is open until Friday, July 3 during the Tower's operating hours. On other days, a ticket is required at the price of 10 PLN (available at the DK Oskard box office and online); group tickets for 15 or more people cost 7 PLN.
