PIOTR KRĘPEĆ | CONCERT "THE LONE WOLF'S ROAD"
Water Tower. Gallery of the Cultural and Art Centre in Konin, Poland
Piotr Krępeć's concert "THE LONE WOLF'S ROAD" is an attempt to reveal the path of an exceptional guitarist and offer insight into his unique creative approach.
Krępeć starts from the conviction that in a world of constant distraction, music increasingly becomes a product to be consumed rather than something truly listened to. He distinguishes between hearing and listening - the latter requires presence, not analysis or judgment. "THE LONE WOLF'S ROAD" is meant to be precisely such a pause: a concert, a meeting, and an intimate experience all at once.
Piotr Krępeć is a guitarist and composer working in the field of European improvised music and contemporary jazz. His artistic practice focuses on solo improvisation forms performed on an acoustic baritone guitar, where listening, silence, and space play a key role. Rooted in classical guitar training and shaped by years of collaboration with jazz musicians, he has developed his own musical language situated between improvisation and form - unfolding slowly, with attention to resonance, texture, and the acoustic properties of the instrument, drawing inspiration from ECM aesthetics and the tradition of European improvised music.
His discography includes solo albums "In Substance", "Movement in Silence", and "Earth", as well as the improvisation project "Impromptu Session" recorded with pianist Kris Górski. His most recent work focuses on solo live recordings.
"Piotr Krępeć is a revelation of Polish guitar and music in general." - TOP GUITAR MAGAZINE
