"Sevenfold. Queen of Six Poles" is an adaptation of Ziemowit Szczerek's novel – a pop-culture blend of Gombrowicz with Konwicki and Mickiewicz. Rather than calling this an "expensive spectacle," we have created a new genre: the "journey-show." A journey through our national fantasies and complexes. Together with the "hero," we travel the "mythical" Highway 7. Armed with witcher-style elixirs, we embark on a grotesque, action-packed, and digressive journey from Kraków, through the provinces, to Warsaw. After all, "Warsaw and Kraków are the capitals of Poles." The show is saturated with irony and often dry humor, which through hyperbole and pastiche attempts to address our history and our inherited mismatch with modern realities, giving us an impulse to rebuild Polish identity.
