Bibuła in the Bed
based on the book by Michał Rusinek "Bibuła in the Bed. On Solidarity for Children"
directed by: Michał Derlatka
cast: Dariusz Czarniecki and Jakub Ehrlich
duration: 45 minutes
This is a story about great and small history, about the power of community and the need for democracy, freedom, and independence – values important even for the youngest citizens. Through puppet theatre, young audiences will learn what the world looked like that their parents and grandparents remember from childhood. They will discover who Wałęsa and Jaruzelski were, what a zomowiec was, and what bibuła did in the bed. It will be a somewhat wild journey through the 1980s for both children and their parents, told in an accessible and understandable way.
The performance received recognition at the Opening Festival in 2025 at the Theatre Institute for Youth, operating under the People's Theatre.
For whom? For children aged 8+ and their parents
