The Two Who Stole the Moon — Puppet Theatre "Arlekin" named after Henryk Ryl in Łódź, Łódź

For audiences aged 5 and up.

Arlekin's production is a contemporary, musical staging of Kornel Makuszyński's novel about two lazy and mischievous brothers whose behaviour poisons the life of their family and the entire village. Jacek and Placek - twins - spend their days fooling around, loafing, tormenting others, and even stealing.

One day they decide to steal the golden moon and sell it to have money for an idle life. They set out on a long journey full of adventures, during which they meet a whole gallery of characters: the mother from the Marshes, pelicans, a swarm of bees, bandits, and a sky-dweller.

Will they find themselves on this journey and make it back to their mother? What will the sense of loss and the shared path into the unknown mean for them - and for their peers?
