INTERNAT
Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Łódź, Poland
A year and a half ago, Pasza was simply a teacher: apolitical, working in some state school, earning extra through tutoring. It was enough to live on; the rest barely concerned him.
Last winter everything changed. Something shifted in the air - everyone talked only about politics and watched news that was simply terrifying.
Now Pasza must get Maly out of the boarding school. Go for him into the very heart of hell. Houses without voices, streets without light, squares without birds. Piercing cold, wet fur, and silence as if everyone had boarded a night train. On one side them, on the other these - unclear who is on whose side. He must get home as quickly as possible.
The play is based on the acclaimed novel by Sergei Zhadan. It is a story of growing into responsibility for the weak, into one's own convictions, into listening, into love - and a tale of longing for ordinary life, of dignity and fearlessness, of returning to oneself.
Premiere: 21 February 2026, 19:00
