Revenge

"Revenge" by Aleksander Fredry is a classic of Polish comedy - a masterpiece of the Polish language and one of the most critical texts about Polishness, which with disarming precision satirizes national vices and weaknesses.

Director Krzysztof Jasiński (Director of the STU Theatre in Kraków) returns to the Jaracza Theatre after 51 years since his directorial debut on this stage. Fredry's nearly 190-year-old text resonates in his 2022 production with a question: will the next generation of Raptusiewiczs and Milczks draw lessons from the finale, which today seems particularly necessary.
