Paint Your Own Richter! | Workshop

The CKiS Wieża Ciśnień Gallery and Energa from the Orlen Group (CSR project partner) are organizing free painting workshops with Prof. Andrzej Leśnik. They will take place on July 18 at 12:00 on the fourth floor of the CKiS Wieża Ciśnień Gallery in Konin. Spaces are limited to 15 people. Free tickets can be picked up at the Oskardu box office.

The workshop focuses on the work of Gerhard Richter, a German painter whose paintings fetch tens of millions of dollars at auction. A short documentary film precedes the workshop, showing how Richter creates paintings using a squeegee. Participants will then try this technique themselves: using a piece of cardboard, they will apply paint to a surface, creating an abstract composition based on the free play of color and chance.

Andrzej Leśnik is a full professor in the First Painting Studio at the Faculty of Artistic Education and Curatorship at the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts in Poznań. He has been working with abstract painting for over four decades. In 2005, he received the Mayor of Gdańsk's Grand Prize in painting at the Third National Biennial of Painting and Unique Textiles.
