Andreas Vollenweider (born 4 October 1953 in Thalwil, Switzerland) is a harpist and composer who built his own electro-acoustic harp from scratch, finding the traditional instrument too limiting for his ideas. His 1983 album "Caverna Magica" broke through internationally, and in 1987 he received a Grammy Award for "Down to the Moon" - making him one of the rare new-age artists to reach mainstream pop, jazz and classical charts simultaneously. Over five decades he has collaborated with Bobby McFerrin, Carly Simon, Luciano Pavarotti and Milton Nascimento, selling over ten million albums worldwide.
Vollenweider announced the first dates of his 2027 tour titled "The Journey - die Reise", a retrospective of 50 years of his music.
The 2025 concert tour was documented on film, with highlight videos released from all cities visited that year.
Additional tickets were released for the October 12, 2025 concert at Kursaal Bern due to high demand.
Andreas Vollenweider & Friends returned to Amsterdam's Royal Theater Carré after a 30-year absence, with the concert having sold out months in advance.
After a 14-year gap, Vollenweider & Friends played three concerts in Poland in October 2024.
