About

Deep Forest is a French electronic music project founded in 1992 by Éric Mouquet and Michel Sanchez, built around blending ambient electronic production with field recordings and vocal samples from indigenous cultures worldwide. Their 1995 album Bohème won the Grammy Award for Best World Music Album, making them the first French act to receive that honour - a distinction they share only with Daft Punk. Albums have sold over ten million copies. Since Sanchez's departure in 2005, Mouquet has continued the project solo, releasing work that spans collaborations with Peter Gabriel, Rahul Sharma, and a string of newer electronic artists.
