Energa Ladies Jazz Festival 2026
Poland's only women's jazz festival returns to Gdynia for its 22nd edition. Stacey Kent, Anna Maria Jopek, and other stars of world jazz will perform at the Musical Theatre.
Anna Maria Jopek (born 14 December 1970 in Warsaw) is a Polish vocalist, pianist, songwriter, and improviser whose music moves freely between jazz, Polish folk, classical, and world music. She studied piano at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and jazz at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, and represented Poland at the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest. Her 2002 album Upojenie, recorded with guitarist Pat Metheny, brought her international recognition - she became only the fourth artist to appear on a Pat Metheny album cover alongside the '&' symbol. Over a career spanning three decades she has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, and the Royal Festival Hall, collaborating with Branford Marsalis, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Bobby McFerrin, and many others.
Jopek is scheduled to perform at the Męskie Granie 2026 festival in Poznań on 11 July, presenting multiple projects.
Jopek performed the TRiNFiNiTY project with Makoto Ozone Trio at NOSPR concert hall in Katowice on 10 May 2026.
Jopek appeared as a guest on Makoto Ozone's album 'For Someone', released on 21 January 2026, contributing four tracks including an original composition.
Jopek performed at Cadogan Hall in London on 26 September 2025 as part of the Polish Jazz Festival; a second appearance followed the next day at Kings Place.
Jopek presented the large-scale Przestworza concert project in Poznań in July 2025, featuring the Piotr Wojtasik Quintet and Atom String Quartet.
