About

Axxis is a German heavy metal and hard rock band from Dortmund, founded in 1988 by vocalist Bernhard Weiß and guitarist Walter Pietsch. Their 1989 debut album 'Kingdom of the Night' sold over 100,000 copies and became the best-selling debut by a hard rock band in Germany that year. Over 35 years the band released 16 studio albums, touring Europe consistently and building a loyal fanbase well beyond their home country. In late 2024, co-founder and keyboardist Harry Oellers left the band after their farewell album 'Coming Home', leaving Bernhard Weiß to determine the group's future direction.

Co-founder and keyboardist Harry Oellers officially left Axxis on December 31, 2024, after his final concert with the band at Zeche Bochum on December 29, dissolving the AXXIS GBR partnership with Bernhard Weiß.

Axxis continued performing without Harry Oellers in January 2025, with shows in Hamburg, Siegburg, Stuttgart and Nuremberg, while the band's future direction remained under discussion.

Axxis announced a self-organized concert for March 14, 2026, at Alter Schlachthof in Soest, signaling continued live activity after the band's structural changes.

Axxis released 'Coming Home' on July 12, 2024 - their 16th and final studio album with Harry Oellers - via their own Phonotraxx label, marking 35 years of the band.

Axxis embarked on their 'Coming Home' farewell tour in autumn 2024, including two special anniversary shows in Memmingen and Bochum.
