DJ BoBo - born Peter René Baumann on 5 January 1968 in Kölliken, Switzerland - is a singer, songwriter, dancer and producer who has shaped European dance-pop since the early 1990s. His 1992 breakthrough single "Somebody Dance with Me" reached the top ten across Europe, and hits like "Everybody", "Freedom" and "Chihuahua" kept him in the charts for over a decade. He has sold 14 million records worldwide, collected ten World Music Awards as Switzerland's best-selling artist, and built a reputation for large-scale arena shows combining live music, choreography and elaborate stage effects.
