About

Godsmack is an American hard rock band from Lawrence, Massachusetts, active since 1995. Founded by vocalist Sully Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill, the band built one of the most consistent chart records in modern rock - three consecutive Billboard 200 number-one albums (Faceless, IV, The Oracle), over 20 million records sold worldwide, and more top-ten rock radio hits than Foo Fighters or Aerosmith. Their eighth and reportedly final studio album, Lighting Up the Sky, came out in 2023; in 2025, longtime members Tony Rombola and Shannon Larkin retired from the band on good terms, leaving Erna and Merrill to continue touring.
