Grandbrothers are a Düsseldorf-based duo: German-Turkish jazz pianist Erol Sarp and Swiss engineer Lukas Vogel, who builds synthesizers by day at Access Music. Their sound starts with a grand piano fitted with a custom system of electromechanical hammers - every beat, texture and rhythm originates from that single instrument. Since their 2015 debut Dilation they have released five albums, moving from ambient minimalism through dance-floor energy to the cathedral acoustics of Late Reflections (2023), recorded inside Cologne Cathedral.
Grandbrothers released their fifth studio album Elsewhere on September 26, 2025, on their own newly founded label _and_others, incorporating analog synths and drum samples for the first time.
The duo released the single 'Fable' in July 2025, the second preview of Elsewhere, accompanied by a music video directed by long-time collaborator Manfred Borsch.
The Elsewhere Tour 2025/26 spans more than 32 European dates, taking the duo to venues including Élysée Montmartre in Paris, Melkweg in Amsterdam, Huxleys Neue Welt in Berlin, and Vicar Street in Dublin.
Late Reflections was released in April 2023, recorded inside Cologne Cathedral, where the duo performed a specially designed concert using the building's vast acoustics.
