Jalen Ngonda (born 1994 in Wheaton, Maryland) is an American soul and R&B singer based in London, signed to Brooklyn's Daptone Records. He grew up absorbing Motown and Stax, moved to Liverpool to study at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, and broke through with his debut album Come Around and Love Me (2023), which hit #1 on the UK Independent Album Breakers Chart and earned endorsements from Elton John, Snoop Dogg and Kehlani. In 2025, Rolling Stone named him the 'leading soul revivalist of this decade'; his sophomore album Doctrine of Love followed in June 2026.
