James Brandon Lewis is an American tenor saxophonist working in the tradition of avant-garde and spiritual jazz. He studied at Howard University and has collaborated with musicians across free jazz and experimental music. His 2018 duo album "Radiant Imprints" with drummer Chad Taylor pays tribute to John Coltrane, drawing on the raw intensity of Coltrane's late-period duets with Rashied Ali.
