About

Kaizers Orchestra is a Norwegian alternative rock band founded on 1 January 2000 by Janove Ottesen and Geir Zahl, childhood friends from Bryne in Rogaland. Their sound fuses rock with cabaret, Eastern European folk and industrial percussion - oil barrels and brake drums are a signature part of the kit - and all lyrics are sung in the Jæren dialect of Norwegian. Their 2001 debut Ompa til du dør won the Spellemannpris (Norwegian Grammy) and became the highest-selling Norwegian-language rock debut ever; eight studio albums followed, including the ambitious Violeta Violeta trilogy (2011-2012). After a decade-long hiatus (2013-2022), the band reunited and completed a sold-out comeback tour before heading out on a European club tour in October 2026.

Kaizers Orchestra completed their first-ever US tour in October 2024, with five dates in Boston, New York, Washington D.C., Minneapolis and Los Angeles.

The band announced a project on the Roblox gaming platform called "Kaizers Universe", developed with game developer Shyfoox and partner Ravenshield.

In November 2022 the band officially confirmed their reunion after a decade-long hiatus, releasing the new song "Dine gamle dager er nå" and announcing a 56-date Norwegian comeback tour.
