Katja Ebstein: Berlin - Despite Everything
Concert by German singer Katja Ebstein at Berlin's Schlosspark Theater.
Katja Ebstein (born Karin Witkiewicz, 9 March 1945 in Girlachsdorf, now Poland) is a German singer, actress and political activist who rose to fame at the turn of the 1970s. She represented West Germany at Eurovision three times - in 1970, 1971 and 1980 - finishing in the top three on each occasion, a record no other artist has matched. Her repertoire spans schlager, chanson, musical theatre and socially critical song, backed by a discography of over 30 albums.
A biography titled 'Zwischen Chanson und Courage' by Eva Werner was published, covering Ebstein's full artistic and personal life from her Berlin beginnings to her European career.
In 2026 Ebstein is presenting a musical reading programme rather than a standard concert tour.
Ebstein performed live concerts in April 2025, with dates listed in the spring season.
