Nightmares on Wax is the project of Leeds-born DJ and producer George Evelyn (b. 1970), active since the late 1980s and the longest-serving artist on Warp Records. His sound weaves hip-hop, soul, dub and downtempo electronics into something warm and distinctly unhurried - a signature that runs from the 1995 classic Smokers Delight through to his recent work. Now based in Ibiza, Evelyn performs both as a DJ and with a full live band, and has collaborated with artists ranging from De La Soul to Yasiin Bey.
