Overkill is an American thrash metal band from Old Bridge, New Jersey, active since 1980. Anchored throughout their career by vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth and bassist D.D. Verni, they are widely credited as pioneers of East Coast thrash and have released 20 studio albums - more than almost any other band in the genre. With over 16 million records sold worldwide, they remain one of the most prolific and consistently touring acts in heavy metal.
Jeramie Kling was confirmed as Overkill's new drummer, replacing Jason Bittner who departed in August 2024.

Frontman Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth stated the band plans to begin writing a new album in early 2025, with recording by year's end and a possible release in 2026.
Overkill announced a European summer tour ("Scorching Europe 2024") covering Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria and other countries, with Spanish thrashers Angelus Apatrida as support on most dates.
