Rainhard Fendrich (born 27 February 1955 in Vienna) is an Austrian singer-songwriter, actor and entertainer, widely regarded as one of the defining voices of Austropop. His 1990 song "I Am from Austria" has long served as Austria's unofficial national anthem, and he was the first pop artist ever to open the Wiener Festwochen. Over a career spanning more than four decades he has released numerous number-one albums in Austria, blending pop, rock and cabaret-inflected songwriting in Viennese dialect.
Fendrich's song "I Am from Austria" was used at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in place of the Austrian entry, accompanied by a public love declaration from the Austrian broadcaster.
Fendrich was announced as the headliner for the Summer Opening concerts in Schladming, scheduled for June 2026.
