The Real McKenzies are a Celtic punk band from Vancouver, Canada, founded in 1992 by frontman Paul McKenzie. They fuse traditional Scottish folk - bagpipes, kilts and all - with the speed and grit of punk rock, and are widely credited as pioneers of the genre in North America, predating the wave of Celtic punk acts that followed. Over more than three decades of relentless touring, they have shared stages with Metallica, NOFX, Rancid, Flogging Molly and the late Shane MacGowan.
