The Dreadnoughts are a Canadian folk-punk band formed in Vancouver in 2006, now based in New York. They blend sea shanties, polkas, waltzes, klezmer, and Balkan rhythms with raw street punk - a sound they call "world-core clusterfolk" - and have toured in over 30 countries across eight studio albums.
The Dreadnoughts released their eighth studio album, Polka Pit, on September 19, 2025 via Punkerton Records.
The band held an album release show for Polka Pit at Skully's Music Diner in Columbus, OH on September 19, joined by The Boy Detective.
The Dreadnoughts are scheduled to play Brakrock festival in Duffel, Belgium on August 7-8, 2026.
The band played the Jera On Air Festival in Ysselsteyn, Netherlands in June 2025.
In December 2024, the band announced the new album would be "polka-heavy and shanty-heavy", later titled Polka Pit.
