About

Skaldowie is a Polish art rock band founded in Kraków in 1965 by brothers Andrzej and Jacek Zieliński. Drawing on the folk music of the Podhale highlands, progressive rock and classical influences, they became one of the most celebrated Polish groups of the late 1960s and 1970s, recording over 500 songs and performing at venues including Carnegie Hall in New York. Co-founder Jacek Zieliński died on 6 May 2024 at the age of 77; the band marked its 60th anniversary in 2025 with concerts across Poland.
